About Clevedon & District Round
Table
|
Firstly lets clear all the first misconceptions
and myths -
· Round Table is not the Rotary Club
... nor the Masons.
· Round Table is not a charity organisation
or a closed club.
· We are not a pub darts team despite
our logo
Our normal Monday meetings would normally
be either :-
a) an activity event such as bowling or go-karting
b) a sit-down event which would normally include
dinner and a speaker
c) a 'visit' consisting of tours around interesting
places.
The range of events are extremely varied and
is constrained only by the imagination of the members and
an average budget of £15-£20 per meeting.
One of the great appeals of joining a Round
table club is that you have the opportunity to try things
which you might never have done otherwise. For instance, how
many people have experienced grass skiing or mini-motorbike
racing ?
And there is no great competitive element so
at a Clay Pigeon event, novices have just as much fun as the
more experienced assasins.
The sit-down events are the perfect contrast
to the activity events and we enjoy a good dinner followed
by talks from celebrities and entertaining speakers.
